He sounds a lot like Ron Paul. Which got me thinking -- what if these 2 paired up? And (since they have no shot at their party's nominations) could this be a recipe for a meaningful third party run?
Unity 08 is looking for a bipartisan ticket with reform credentials. Gravel/Paul would fit that bill to a T, and then some.
Most notably, such a ticket would have real draw from BOTH party's bases -- stealing movement conservatives and movement progressives from the 2-party voting pool. This would be especially true if the parties nominate middle ground candidates like Clinton or McCain.
Even more notably, such a ticket might be able to spur a political realignment -- removing the left/right moral divide and getting back to the American tradition of libertarian values.
Gravel/Paul - could it happen? What impact would it have? Could you possibly vote for them?
